Home Project Resources is a free set of calculators and guides for projects around the house. Measure your space, enter the numbers, and find out how much concrete, paint, flooring or mulch to get before you head to the store.
Who makes it
I'm Joan Ramos. I build small free websites. I'm not a contractor, and I won't pretend to be one. I make tools that help with the math.
This all started with Mary's Printables, a free printables site that I figured few people would ever see. Then messages began to arrive. A teacher had found the worksheet her class was missing. A parent was using a chart with a child who was finding things hard. Someone had grabbed a printable at the last possible moment.
They weren't writing about design. They were writing because the page had what they needed, it worked on the first try, and it didn't ask them for a thing. Every site I've made since has had to meet that same test.
Why a home project site
Almost every home project starts with the same question: how much do I need? Buy too little and you're back at the store halfway through, hoping the new batch of tile or paint matches. Buy too much and you're stuck with it in the garage.
The math isn't hard, but it's easy to get wrong when walls have doors, patios have curves and bags are sold in odd sizes. I wanted calculators that handle those details for you.
What makes good home project help
Good help works from your real measurements, in feet and inches, not rounded guesses. It adds sensible extra for waste and cuts, and it tells you how much extra it added and why.
Still, every result here is a general estimate. Measure twice, and for anything structural, electrical, or that needs a permit, talk to a licensed contractor or your local building office before you start.
